FHI Consulting Engineers is led by Frans Odendaal, Pr Eng, BEng, a Professional Engineer with extensive experience in structural engineering, project coordination and consulting engineering practice.
Frans completed his BEng Civil Engineering degree at Stellenbosch University in 2007 and registered as a Professional Engineer with ECSA in 2013. He began his career in 2008 as a Site Engineer during the construction of the Cape Town Stadium, gaining valuable hands-on exposure to large-scale construction from early in his career.
From 2009 to 2020, Frans gained further structural engineering, managerial and business experience within consulting engineering firms in the Cape Town metropolitan area. This combination of site experience, technical design knowledge and leadership forms the foundation of FHI’s practical, project-focused approach.
Today, Frans leads FHI with a strong emphasis on clear communication, buildable engineering solutions and reliable support for architects, developers, contractors and professional project teams.
